The Digital Architecture of a Green Organization

Saturday, November 14th

Conference Room

In 2019 alone, over 50 million tons of e-waste was produced. In a great many organizations, servers, computers and networks proliferate and overlap in a maze of complexity and waste. Data production is growing exponentially. More data was produced in the last two years than in all of previous history. 90% of that data is not used three months after it is created—it’s waste. We have an e-waste and data waste crisis and it is going to get much, much worse.

Hear about how Enterprise Design supported by the upcoming Intersection toolkit puts the earth and all life on it at the center of digital thinking. Learn how it’s lightweight Architectural Thinking tools tackle the challenges of complexity- and thereby waste reduction. Find out how we as individuals can change if we are to use digital in a genuinely environmental way. Find out what sort of changes need to be made to organizational culture and strategy if we are to genuinely turn digital into a de-accelerator rather than an accelerator of global warming.
